Our Heroes

Golden Geeks is a collection of extremely passionate individuals who we drool over.  These are our dream nerds whom we wish to see on the our show.  So, here is our little master plan.  We are putting vote boxes next to each Golden Geek so that they can collect votes.  This is were you guys come in, the higher the votes the more we can pester them, and convince them that our evil plans are really a plot to save the world and that not only do we want them on our show but so do there fans. mwahahaha.

1.Steve Wiebe – If you are super into serious arcade gaming and/or movies, then you know who Steve Wiebe is.  Steve Wiebe’s story was told in “King of Kong” a documentary on his quest to become the highest score holder on the King of Kong.  In his battle he was wronged and denied the score which he achieved via video tape.  He was challenged to re-achieve the same score  in the famous Funspot arcade. During the movie he consistently struggles with the former record holder Billy Mitchell.  Now, I want to be clear here, in no way shape or form do we want him on the show (sorry, but true). He’s stupid and has bad hair, but Steve rules!

2.MC Hammer – You may think MC Hammer isn’t a nerd, but really he is the king of nerds.  He is the sultan of fanny packs and bungee pants.  He writes the songs that you only sing at home alone in your shower and are scared out of your minds to crank in your ride.  His biggie was “Can’t Touch This”, but I am a total sucker for Hammer Time. He has quite the story as well, from rags to riches and rags to riches.  In fact, we follow him on the twitter (@mchammer), and guys he is really pretty nerdy.  Guys, HE IS MC HAMMER!  You can find him now on his reality show Hammertime.

images-23.Matt Pinfield – Matt Pinfield was my ultimate dork leading me through my teenage years.  You may know him from late 90’s run as an MTV VJ.  He hosted 120 minutes, Say What, MTV Live, MTV News, and one my favorite TRL segments Stump Matt.  He has an extremely profound knowledge of all things music and a voice you could recognize from miles away.  You can currently find him on Sirius Satelite Radio’s: Matt Pinfield plays whatever he wants.  He really is a God.

images-34. Jaleel White - I don’t even know how to start on this guy.  He was the ultimate TV nerd of the 90’s, Steve Urkel.  Anywhere in the United States you could do something completely stupid and in a high pitched voice say “Did I do thaaatttttt” and people would instantly know what you are referencing.  You may remember Eddie and Laura Winslow as the cooler characters on the show in the early years, but the Stephan was born.  The uber suave alter identity of Steve Urkel, also played by Jaleel.  Plus, he is the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog.  How sweet would it be to have Jaleel on the show spilling all the beans of both characters.  Woot Woot.

5. Jonathan Ive – Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc. These two words are probably not used together very often at all: sexy + nerd. Sexy in the terms of the traditional hotness factor, yes, sexy in terms of technical and industrial design, hell yes. He’s responsible for the design of Apple’s line of iPhones, iPods, and Mac Book Pro and Air line of computers. This super secretive and shy guy is nothing less than a god in the minds of millions of Apple product users. His designs, to me, represent durability, inspires imagination, and are just plain awesome. His humbleness towards others, work ethic and passion for his craft are nothing short of astounding.

6. Mark Hamill – Actor, Voice Artist. Everyone knows who he is, everyone loves him. He was Luke Skywalker in George Lucas’ epic space saga Star Wars and has been and currently is a prolific voice actor. He has provided the voice talent of The Joker in the animated series, Batman and a whole slew of other great villains. Here’s a guy that, despite popularity from playing an american icon, has moved to providing the voice for thousands of animated and video game faces. I mean, come on, why wouldn’t you want to try to get him on our show, he’s freakin’ Luke Skywalker!

7. Christopher Mintz-Plasse - Uhhhh, who?! You guys, come on!!! It’s McLovin’ from Superbad! “It’s not the “going” I’m worried about… but the “coming.” or “Gangstaaaaaaaaaaasss… what’s up guys?” Seriously, Christopher pulls nerd off in todays society like no one else’s business. Granted, the writing for that movie was brilliant, but it took the sly eye and the pure McLovin’ to make the geek factor turn to nerd factor in a heart beat. Everybody loves McLovin’. Here’s some cool trivia: Because Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) was only 17 at the time of filming, his mother was required to be on set during the filming of his sex scene! Even though he hasn’t been around all that long, Christopher has proven that nerd is still the word. Gangstaaaas.
